Women of all ages, shapes, and stripes, will gather to learn, connect, and deepen at the 5th annual Southeast Women’s Herbal Conference on October 2-4, 2009. They gather from all over the Southeast and beyond, hundreds strong, to participate in what for one woman has become “the highlight of my year!”

They gather to choose from more than 50 classes offered by over 30 teachers on topics such as: herb walks, tea blending, herbal skin care, herbal baths, menstrual health, menopause, women’s wellness, nutrition, phytochemicals, HPV, shamanic breathwork, talking stick, self esteem, as well as art, dance, yoga, and poetry…all based in the Wise Woman Tradition.

What is the Wise Woman Tradition? In a phrase, simple living, earth-based healing, and local plants. “Women are hungry for this knowledge. The conference offers an opportunity for them to steep themselves in these teachings for an entire weekend,” says conference Director Corinna Wood.

Why the Wise Woman Tradition? In Susun Weed’s own words: “It offers men and women a new way to think about and create health in all stages of their lives. It empowers women to take charge of their health and their lives, to honor and respect themselves, and the earth.”
